Come to the Table - St Timothy Vacation Bible School 2024

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will

never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

—John 6:35 (NRSV)

During VBS 2024, our children and volunteers explored five stories about Jesus from the Gospels of Luke and John. These stories showed Jesus eating with unexpected people, providing food for a crowd, demonstrating humility, and extending welcome and forgiveness. When you eat with Jesus, anything can happen!

The children learned about Jesus’ parable of the great feast and were invited to journey alongside Jesus as he fed 5,000 people, befriended a tax collector, washed his disciple’s feet, shared his Body and Blood, and both forgave and challenged his friend, Peter. What better way to teach children about the power of the Eucharist than to teach them stories that demonstrate everyone is welcome at God’s table where there is always enough?

2024’s week of VBS highlighted God’s love and welcome of all people and challenged the children to share that same love and hospitality in their everyday lives.
